NEW "Score Mixup" Bug in "Cut The Rope" ver. 1.6

( Updated on 26th October 2012:  ZeptoLab has stopped supporting "Crystal" for the iOS platform, now there is only support for "Game Center" achievements and leaderboards, read: Changes to "Cut The Rope" ver. 2.0, "Cut The Rope: Experiments" ver. 1.5, "Cut The Rope Free" ver. 2.0, etc.  But the bug mentioned here also affects the "Game Center" scores. )

Previously I wrote down my individual level scores for all the boxes on paper, that's how I discovered this bug.  The scores of 3 boxes "Valentine", "Toy" and "Cosmic" have been "mixed up" in "Cut The Rope" ver. 1.6 due to the recent change in the order of boxes:

(1) The scores of all levels in "Valentine Box" have been replaced wrongly by the scores of "Toy Box",

(2) The scores of all levels in "Toy Box" have been replaced wrongly by the scores of "Cosmic Box",

(3) The scores of all levels in "Cosmic Box" have been replaced wrongly by the scores of "Valentine Box".

When I accessed "Crystal" to check my old iPhone 3G's scores, the "mixed up" scores were posted and I could only detect case (2) because you can get higher score in "Cosmic Box" than "Toy Box".  The other 2 cases cannot be detected as easily as this because for case (1), "Valentine Box" can get higher score than "Toy Box" while for case (3), "Cosmic Box" can get higher score than "Valentine Box", and "Crystal" shows the highest scores posted.

I show you the error screenshots below when I checked my "Toy Box" scores in "Crystal" for my old iPhone 3G.  My "Toy Box" total score should be 138,240 pts instead of 142,260 pts which is for my "Cosmic Box" total score.  I got 140,530 pts for "Valentine Box".

"Toy Box" score replaced wrongly by "Cosmic" (1 of 2)

"Toy Box" score replaced wrongly by "Cosmic" (2 of 2)

Due to all these errors, I've changed my mind and decided not to waste my time in replaying the old boxes of "Cut The Rope" using my new iPhone 4S because it's very time-consuming to max out the scores.  I just bought the in-app purchase item "Unlock All Boxes" (US$0.99) for my iPhone 4S because I've already reset all my old scores for the "Cut The Rope" games in it due to the different gameplay problem (read my earlier articles for details).

"Electric Sparks" Bug fixed in "Cut The Rope" ver. 1.6

The "Electric Sparks" bug (read article: NEW "Electric Sparks" Bug in "Cut The Rope" ver. 1.5 ) has been fixed in the latest "Cut The Rope" ver. 1.6.

After some testing, I discovered that the gameplay of iPhone 3G and iPhone 4/4S remain unchanged.  Bubbles still rise faster in iPhone 3G than iPhone 4/4S while the ropes are still more "springy" and Om Nom's mouth is still slightly wider in iPhone 4/4S than iPhone 3G.

In "Cut The Rope" ver. 1.6, the order of the earlier boxes has been changed and a NEW "Score Mixup" bug has been introduced.  Please read my next 2 posts for details.
